Who I am

I am Anne-Julie Burdet, trading as AJ Burdet Consulting. I am responsible for the personal information I collect and use through this website and in the course of my consultancy work.

You can contact me at Anne-Julie@AJBurdet.org.

Information I collect

If you contact me through this website, by email or through another professional channel, I may collect information such as your name, email address, organisation and anything you choose to include in your message. If we work together, I may also hold information needed to manage our professional relationship and deliver the work we have agreed.

How I use your information

I use personal information to:

  • respond to enquiries and have conversations about potential work;

  • communicate with clients and other professional contacts;

  • deliver and manage consultancy commissions; and

  • meet relevant legal, financial and administrative requirements.

I do not use information submitted through my contact form to add people to marketing mailing lists.

My lawful basis for using your information

I generally process personal information because it is necessary for my legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and running my consultancy, or because it is necessary to take steps towards or fulfil a contract with you. Where I have a legal obligation to retain or use information, I may also process it on that basis.

Who has access to your information

I do not sell your personal information. I use third-party services to operate my consultancy, including Squarespace for this website and Microsoft 365 for email and document management. These providers may process personal information on my behalf as part of providing those services.

Cookies and website analytics

This website uses cookies and similar technologies. Essential cookies are used to make the website work. I have restricted non-essential cookies, including those used by Squarespace for website analytics.

How long I keep your information

I keep personal information only for as long as I reasonably need it for the purpose for which it was collected, including any legal, accounting or professional requirements. I periodically review information I hold and delete it when it is no longer needed.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you have rights over your personal information, including rights to access it, correct it, ask for it to be deleted or restricted, and object to certain uses of it. If you have a question or concern about how I use your information, contact me at Anne-Julie@AJBurdet.org. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
